Vehicles and loads that exceed Texas legal size or weight limits need an oversize/overweight (OS/OW) permit and route from the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. Most applications run through the Texas Permitting and Routing Optimization System (TxPROS), the state’s online permitting and routing system.
