How PermitPath handles your information.
Last Updated: August 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how STL Apps LLC ("we", "us", or "our"), the sole owner of PermitPath, handles information when you use the PermitPath mobile application ("the App") and our website. By using the App or our website, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. Privacy and data protection laws may vary based on your location. If you have specific legal questions, you should consult with a qualified attorney in your jurisdiction.
PermitPath is owned and operated solely by STL Apps LLC. STL Apps LLC is the sole owner of the PermitPath product, website, and related services. No other person or entity owns PermitPath or the information practices described in this Privacy Policy.
You can use the core features of PermitPath—including map browsing, route planning within free-tier limits, turn-by-turn navigation, local saved routes, and in-app purchases—without creating an account.
Creating an account is optional. If you sign up or sign in, we process limited account and usage information on our backend so we can support your account, understand product usage, and help manage subscription-related status. Map and routing features also rely on third-party map services that process location and route request data as needed to provide those services.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.
When you use the App without signing in:
We do not require you to provide your name or email to use guest features.
If you choose to create an account or sign in (for example, from Settings), we process:
You may also request a password-reset email. Reset links are sent to the email address you provide.
Purpose: authenticate you, maintain your profile, support account recovery, and enable optional account-related features and support.
If you are signed in, the App may send limited usage and product events to our backend, such as:
These events are associated with your account. They help us understand how the product is used, support the service, and see subscription status history. They are not used for third-party advertising.
If you are not signed in, these account-linked usage events are not sent to our servers.
With your permission, the App uses your device’s location while you use the App to:
Location access is requested for these features. You can deny or later change location permission in your device settings; some features may not work without it.
Route and map requests that include coordinates are processed by Mapbox (and related mapping infrastructure) so maps and directions can be returned. We do not sell location data. We do not intentionally build a long-term GPS track history of your trips on our own servers for advertising purposes. Signed-in usage logs (described above) record activity types and related product metadata, not a full continuous track dump of every GPS point.
Waypoints, route geometry, route names, and similar planning data are primarily stored on your device so you can save and reopen routes. If you export or share a route (for example, via the system share sheet, Messages, or Files), that content leaves the App under your control and is subject to the privacy practices of the apps or people you share with.
The App is a routing tool. You are responsible for what you enter and share. We do not ask you to upload permit numbers, load details, or business shipment records as a required part of using the App, and we do not intentionally collect those as a separate category of personal data.
The App may offer auto-renewing subscriptions or other in-app purchases processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). When you buy or restore:
You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
If you contact us through a form on our website, we use the information you choose to provide (such as name, email, and message) only to respond to your inquiry or provide support. We do not sell, rent, or trade this information. We retain it only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, meet legal obligations, or resolve disputes.
We use the information described above to:
The App and website rely on third-party services. Those providers process data under their own privacy policies. Important providers include:
We do not control how these providers independently operate their services. We configure them to provide the App’s features and do not sell your data to third parties for marketing or advertising.
The App is intended for use by professional drivers and transportation professionals. It is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take appropriate action.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to help protect information we process, including use of encrypted connections (HTTPS) for network requests and authentication through our account provider. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, our practices, or legal requirements. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App or website after any changes become effective means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle information, please contact us using the contact form on our website.
